On November 24, 2009, “Philippine Investment Seminar” was held at Roppongi Hills. It was sponsored by the ASEAN Center and the Embassy of the Philippines. There were as many as 170 participants.

The themes of the seminar were Mining, as well as Business Process Outsourcing (BPO). Among the speakers were Mr. Hernandez, undersecretary of DTI, Ms. Delima, administrator of PEZA, representatives from Sumitomo Mining Co. (for Mining Sector), ASJ (for BPO) and Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ.

During the seminar, it was mentioned that the Philippines is currently the 2nd largest destination in the world in BPO industry having 21% after India. Aside from this, the speakers also mentioned a new trend in the Philippines: the shift from traditional voice-based outsourcing (Call Center) to more value-added areas like Back Office and KPO (Knowledge Process Outsourcing).

In Ayala Group, various BPO services are available: software development (ASTI), voice (Stream Global Services), KPO (Integreon), digital design (Affinity Express).
